Craps odds

One table, two extremes.

Craps holds the only bet in the casino with no house edge — and, a few inches away, bets that take 16%. The table sees both the same. You should not.

The idea

The flashiest bets are the worst.

The odds bet pays at true probability — zero edge — but you can only place it alongside the pass line. The one-roll bets in the centre of the table, the ones the crew shouts about, carry the worst edge in the building.

Craps: the best and worst bet

On the same table, 0% and 16.67% sit side by side. Choose well.

The money that passes through the table.

Craps is the only game with a bet that has no house edge: the odds bet, which pays at true probability. The catch is you can only place it as an add-on to the pass line. The bets in the centre of the table — any seven, any craps — are the flashiest and the worst.
